Throughout March, PCG Cares teams across the U.S. supported various nonprofit organizations in the core industries we also serve as a firm: education, health, and human services. Many new solutions are being designed and implemented to satisfy the requirements of the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS). From platforms, to Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software, to Best-of-Breed, there are both some nuances as well as major differences in how the child welfare community is defining the various solutions in the marketplace.

PCG’s EducatorEd platform offers research-based, online professional learning for districts and K-12 educators. We are thrilled that two of our online courses offered through EducatorEd were recently featured in leading industry publications.

In his decades of experience spanning many roles, PCG’s special education subject matter expert Will Gordillo has personally experienced some very tragic events on the job that unexpectedly escalated to a crisis-level, involving incidents of violence and threats initiated by students. While he was fortunate to work in school districts that used available frameworks as resources, the processes were often paper- and form-driven, had great variability, lacked uniformity, and were sometimes not consistently implemented as they were intended, all of which impacted fidelity.
