Methodologies
Safe Schools Methodologies
BTAM is a proven method of early intervention recommended by the FBI, U.S. Department of Education, and U.S. Secret Service. When implemented consistently, schools can identify students in crisis and prevent acts of targeted violence before they occur.
Through a comprehensive approach of proactive school crisis prevention and sustained initiatives, our BTAM solutions can help give kids a safe place to learn, play, and grow up. PCG’s solutions are built on leading nationally recognized methodologies.
SK Cascade Model
Created for schools through the collaboration of education, public health, and law enforcement, The SK Cascade Model is a comprehensive set of protocols and safety planning procedures that identify risk factors and manage potential violent behavior while promoting safe school environments.
Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG)
Authored by Dr. Dewey Cornell, CSTAG provides a structured approach for schools to identify, assess, and manage potential threats that aligns with school and local guidelines.
National Threat Assessment Center (NTAC) Model
The NTAC Model is an out-of-the-box configuration that follows state and local guidelines to help school administrators and staff identify and assess potential threats of violence in their schools.
Suicide in Schools (SiS) Model
In partnership with Dr. Terri Erbacher, Ph.D., our Suicide Risk Assessment (SRA) system incorporates her SiS methodology to outline a clear process to follow in risk assessment.
