Even while the number of children in foster care increased from 2012 to 2017, half of states saw a decrease in the number of available non-relative foster family homes. Though the number of children in foster care has since decreased to 424,000 in 2019, the need for foster families is still acute.

    U.S. Supreme Court Hears Oral Arguments on Constitutionality of Affordable Care Act (ACA)

    On Tuesday, November 10, 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the third case challenging the constitutionality of the ACA.  The case brought by a number of Republican State Attorney Generals arose because Congress reduced the penalty attached to the individual mandate to zero.
