PCG’s quarterly employee recognition program, the EPIC Awards, is designed to help bring the firm’s four core tenets—Entrepreneurial Spirit, Passion, Impact, and Community—to life in a tangible way. Today, we are thrilled to announce that Josh Olszewski, a senior manager in Education, has been selected as PCG’s newest EPIC Awards winner in recognition of his Impact on his team and EDPlan statewide implementation efforts.

Since joining PCG in 2018, Josh has consistently tackled some of our education practice’s most complex project challenges. Throughout his career at PCG, he has played a pivotal role in developing the project management approach for implementing and servicing EDPlan in new statewide projects. Dedicated to achieving success, Josh mentors project managers and consultants across the practice, offering training and guidance to project and team leads on effective management strategies.

“Josh was first brought in to support a critical and ambitious statewide EDPlan implementation in North Carolina. Josh helped to implement a framework that led to a successful project by creating an organized team with clear roles and responsibilities, fully planning and managing a detailed project schedule, and providing the project team with coaching on effective strategies for managing complex technology projects. Following this project, Josh has expanded his impact in the practice area by replicating this model with several other projects, including work most recently in South Carolina, Hawaii, and Washington. In each of these projects, Josh is always available and willing to go the extra mile for his client, his teammates, and PCG,” said Amy Smith, Associate Practice Area Director.

“The framework Josh executed in North Carolina was the basis for the approach our team took to implementing our statewide EDPlan project in South Carolina. His model was instrumental in ensuring the success of that implementation. Along with his coaching and support, his proven project management framework helped to ensure a project delivered on-time, within the anticipated budget, and without any significant scope creep, all while protecting the team from being overallocated and overextended and ensuring a satisfied client,” said Lauren English-Mezzino, Associate Manager.

Josh’s impact extends beyond his expertise; his leadership and collaborative spirit have fostered a stronger, more connected team. By creating an environment of trust and innovation, he encourages his peers to share ideas and grow professionally. Through EDU’s new multi-regional cooperative, Josh is empowering others and shaping the future of their teams.

“Josh stepped up to lead our multi-regional operations cooperative,” said Brooke Bell, Associate Manager. “In EDU, each regional team manages their own EDPlan projects, which can sometimes be challenging due to small teams and a lack of shared expertise. The regional leads from the South, Mid-Atlantic, and Pacific Northwest are piloting a new approach to managing these projects through a multi-regional operations cooperative. The initiative aims to enhance operational excellence and effectiveness in our EDPlan projects while building capacity, capability, and leadership within our teams, establishing clear career paths for operations staff, and creating consistency and standardization in our implementation and production support approaches. Recognizing the need for a strong leader to drive this initiative, Josh answered the call.”

Congratulations Josh on this well-deserved recognition!
