For more than twenty years, the partnership between Washington School Information Processing Cooperative (WSIPC) and PCG has played a critical role in supporting special education services across Washington State. WSIPC has been a pioneer in innovation, supporting over 300 Washington school districts since 1967. What began as a collaboration with PCG to provide districts with a reliable special education solution has evolved into a long-standing partnership focused on improving compliance, streamlining processes, and ultimately supporting better outcomes for students with disabilities.
A key component of this partnership has been the IEP Online Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC), made up of WSIPC cooperative members and district representatives. SEAC has played an important role in shaping the system over the years, ensuring that the system continues to reflect the needs of Washington districts. This partnership has supported hundreds of districts and thousands of educators who rely on the system every day. Kris Gregoire, Education Consultant, explains, “For almost 20 years, the IEP Online Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) has played a critical role in shaping the system by providing expert guidance, ensuring alignment with evolving special education requirements, and helping drive enhancements that improve usability, compliance, and outcomes for students and educators.” As the platform continues to modernize, the shared focus remains the same: providing districts with a stable, efficient solution that supports educators and improves outcomes for students.
Another way WSIPC supports schools and educators is by hosting the WASWUG Conference every year, providing opportunities to connect and share ideas. PCG has been attending for over a decade, giving our experts a valuable opportunity to connect directly with districts and better understand how this work is impacting them. This year, PCG contributed to over 100 hours of conference learning and experts hosted six sessions in the Special Education track, sharing updates, providing guidance, and answering questions related to the ongoing transition to IEP Online 3.0. IEP Online 3.0 will enable PCG to meet the new and growing needs of Washington State as the demands on districts for student outcomes and compliance expand.
It was especially meaningful to engage with district staff face-to-face, hear their perspectives, and continue strengthening the partnership between districts, WSIPC, and PCG as we move forward together.
