Earlier this summer, PCG staff volunteered at Partners for World Health (PWH) in Portland, Maine. PWH addresses critical medical supply shortages both locally and globally while also promoting environmental sustainability by rescuing usable medical supplies that would otherwise be discarded. The team cleaned surplus, donated hospital beds so they could be distributed locally and globally to communities in need.

Aurelia Blackstock, Training and Curriculum Specialist explained the importance of PWH’s work: “When I used to work at a local domestic violence shelter, PWH frequently donated much needed toiletries and medical supplies to the survivors living there. This allowed survivors and their children access to the necessities that they otherwise may not be able to afford.” Aurelia regularly plans volunteer events for PCG Maine staff. “I really enjoy coming together with folks from different practice areas that I normally wouldn’t have a chance getting to know. We have many PCGers that live in Maine and it’s great working together to make an impact in our local community.”
