In June, Phoenix-area PCG staff and their families volunteered to help set up the ALS Association of Arizona’s annual Bite Nite Gala Fundraiser. Volunteers assisted with setting up the formal dining room, organizing and assembling gift bags, preparing event materials, placing signage throughout the venue, and helping arrange various activity and registration areas.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. “ALS is considered an orphan disease, which means it affects a relatively small number of people. Because the patient population is smaller, there has historically been less financial incentive for pharmaceutical companies to invest in research and treatment development. That makes organizations like the ALS Association incredibly important, not only for advancing research but also for providing support and resources to individuals and families who are facing a devastating diagnosis.” explains Rob Niblock, Education.

Bite Nite, introduced in 2008, is ALS Arizona’s culinary-based fundraising event held in both Phoenix and Tucson. This event brings together top chefs from across the Valley to showcase unique dishes, while raising critical funds and awareness for ALS. Recognized as the Best Annual Event and Best Annual Charity Event by Arizona Foothills Magazine, Bite Nite has become a cornerstone fundraiser for the ALS community. This year’s Bite Nite Gala raised $600,000 to advance ALS research and provide support for those battling the disease.

Phoenix-area PCG staff are proud of their partnership with ALS Association of Arizona’s, also participating in the ALS Walk last November, with plans to participate again this fall. We are proud of our team for continuing to support their community and make a meaningful impact in the fight against ALS.
