From Goals to Growth: Reflections on the FY26 Summer Internship Program
Updated on: August 10, 2026
Published on: August 11, 2026

After 10 weeks of learning, connection, and real-world experience, PCG’s FY26 Summer Internship Program has come to a close. Throughout the summer, interns built professional skills, explored PCG’s culture, contributed to meaningful work, and formed relationships across the firm through weekly Lunch & Learns, cohort check-ins, informal networking opportunities, intern connects, and brunch with CEO Bill Mosakowski.
Session topics ranged from A Day in the Life of a Business Analyst and Former Intern Perspectives to LinkedIn Presence, Resume Writing and Interview Skills, PCG Culture, PCG Cares, and Why I PCG—offering interns a well-rounded experience designed to support both personal and professional growth.
A defining part of this year’s program was the return to more consistent in-office engagement. With 11 of the 13 interns based near a PCG office and many going in at least once a week, the cohort had more opportunities for in-person collaboration, relationship-building, and exposure to PCG’s workplace culture than in recent years. These moments helped bring the program to life and reinforced the importance of connection as part of the internship experience.
One of the summer’s standout moments was the Executive Panel, a cohort favorite featuring Gary Garofalo, Chief Operating Officer; Marc Staubley, Health Practice Area Director; and Tobi Russell, Chief People Officer. Together, they shared career advice, leadership reflections, and practical guidance for early-career professionals, emphasizing that growth at PCG is shaped by continuous learning, strong relationships, and a willingness to take ownership of one’s development.

“This program taught me the importance of collaboration. Not collaboration in the sense of asking for feedback to finalize a task, but to further it. Much of the work I created and witnessed during my internship was collaborative, which I found to create higher quality outputs and more team buy in. I will carry this lesson as I move forward in my professional life.”

Supporting Intern Growth through Mentorship
Throughout PCG’s Summer Internship Program, mentors play an important role in helping interns navigate their summer experiences, ask questions, and make meaningful connections across the firm.
For many mentors, the experience was just as valuable. In addition to providing guidance, mentors had the opportunity to reflect on their own career experiences, learn from their interns’ fresh perspectives, and strengthen connections across PCG. Across the program, mentors emphasized that some of the most meaningful moments came from helping interns feel supported, welcomed, and connected to our culture.
Reflections from Mentors
As the FY26 Summer Internship Program comes to a close this week, we thank each mentor for the time, guidance, and support they shared throughout the summer!

“Mentorship goes both ways. As a young professional, having the opportunity to support and help develop other young professionals brings me a great deal of joy. It’s rewarding to share my own experiences, and watch mentees grow, build confidence, and bring their unique perspectives to their work. One of my favorite parts is seeing them come out of their shell and become comfortable reaching out to colleagues across PCG to learn and connect. The willingness of PCG team members to engage, share their expertise, and support my mentees’ growth is a testament to our culture of community, collaboration, and continuous learning.”

“Serving as a mentor this summer was a rewarding experience because it provided an opportunity to help bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world consulting. Beyond sharing technical and professional guidance, I enjoyed creating an environment where questions were encouraged, ideas were explored, and confidence could grow. It was equally rewarding to see the intern bring fresh perspectives and curiosity to discussions, reminding me that mentorship is truly a two-way learning experience. Experiences like these reinforce PCG’s culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and investing in people, which ultimately benefits both individuals and the organization.”

“I know as a mentor I was there to offer guidance to Zoe, but I felt like meeting with her also helped me improve as a professional. When we would work through questions she had during our check-ins, I felt like it allowed me to reflect on how I would handle certain situations and how I’ve grown since starting at PCG nearly five years ago. I also really enjoyed working with her to network at PCG because it encouraged me to reach out to connections myself. All in all, I felt like I benefited as much from the program as Zoe did!”

“One of the most rewarding parts of mentoring an intern this summer was building a meaningful connection and having the opportunity to support their growth. The experience gave me an even greater appreciation for the culture of learning, collaboration, and support at PCG.”

“I’m thankful for my mentee, Katelyn’s curiosity and her ability to ask great questions throughout the summer! As her mentor, I had the opportunity to help her explore her interests and connect with colleagues whose experiences aligned with her goals. Those conversations created learning opportunities for both of us. While I was making introductions and facilitating discussions, I also learned more about my coworkers’ expertise, certifications, career journeys, and the thoughtful advice they have to offer. It was rewarding to support Katelyn’s growth while expanding my own perspective and connections across PCG’s Health Team. The experience reinforced how valuable curiosity, networking, and knowledge-sharing can be for everyone involved.”

“Participating as a mentor in the PCG Summer Intern Program was a meaningful experience for me because of the genuine connection I was able to build with a young person at an exciting transition point in their life. One of the most rewarding aspects of the program was simply being present as a supportive connection. Sometimes mentorship is less about providing answers and more about listening, encouraging, and helping someone feel welcomed and valued. I appreciated the opportunity to be part of the intern’s experience and to learn from their perspective as much as I hoped they may have learned from mine. Overall, the program reminded me that meaningful mentorship can take many forms. The relationship and connection we built were the most impactful outcomes for me, and I am grateful to have shared in the enthusiasm, possibilities, and hope that come with looking toward the future.”

“The most meaningful part of serving as a mentor this summer was the opportunity to give back to the program that helped launch my career at PCG back in 2024. It was especially rewarding to share with interns the advice I wish I had heard during my own internship experience: don’t be afraid to ask questions and reach out for help. Everyone at PCG is willing to support you, understanding that you’re still learning and finding your way. This experience reinforced the value of mentorship for me and highlighted the full-circle journey I’ve had at PCG. Having once been mentored as an intern myself, it was incredibly fulfilling to serve as a mentor and help guide the next generation of interns through their own professional development.”

“What stood out the most this summer was the quality of interns as a whole that were brought into the program. It is exciting to see the level of talent that expresses interest in PCG. From a personal point of view, I was able to gain a very positive experience through supporting Amelie this summer. She brought a fresh and energetic perspective to PCG and the internship program. This experience reinforced the importance of staying involved supporting the next classes of interns and potential PCG employees any way I can.”
Matthew Waggett, Technology Consulting
As we conclude this summer’s internship program, we extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the FY26 cohort. From mentors and supervisors to colleagues who shared their time, expertise, and support, each connection helped create a meaningful experience for our interns and reinforced the value of learning through collaboration.
This summer also served as a reminder that growth at PCG—and in any career—is shaped by continuous learning, adaptability, and a commitment to living our EPIC values. By translating ideas into actionable solutions, using data to inform decisions, communicating effectively, and building trust through strong relationships, early-career professionals can contribute meaningfully to their teams while shaping their own career journeys with confidence and purpose.
