Recap of SXSW EDU 2024
Public Consulting Group (PCG) was a proud sponsor of SXSW EDU 2024 in Austin, Texas. From March 4 to March 7, PCG representatives joined thousands of education leaders from across the country for presentations, workshops, and discussions focused on driving positive changes in education.
PCG’s participation in this year’s event was driven particularly by our passion for equitable literacy education. As such, we participated in the “Policy to Practice: Literacy Equity Through the Colorado READ Act” panel discussion alongside representatives from the Colorado Department of Education and Denver Public Schools. Moderated by Robert Frantum-Allen, a senior associate in PCG’s Education practice area, the panel illuminated how PCG partnered with the Colorado Department of Education to provide evidence-based professional development for over 30,000 educators across the state in alignment with Colorado’s Reading to Ensure Academic Development (READ) Act. You can listen to an audio recording of the entire panel discussion here.
Following the panel, PCG hosted a happy hour at Parlor Room in Austin’s historic Rainey Street District. Over 120 PCG representatives and education leaders convened to continue conversations about literacy equity, while enjoying an evening of food, drinks, and live music. This not only allowed for insightful and actionable discussion, but also provided our team with the opportunity to meet some of the clients and communities we serve.
We were honored to participate in this year’s event alongside some of the brightest minds in education. Our team will leverage these novel insights to continue providing education solutions designed to help all children reach their full potential.
