Public Consulting Group Partners with Michigan Department of Health & Human Services to Launch Behavioral Health Training Center
Public Consulting Group (PCG) has been awarded a significant contract by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) to establish a Capacity Building Center (CBC). This innovative initiative aims to enhance training opportunities for children’s behavioral health providers across the state, addressing a critical need to strengthen the workforce that supports Michigan families.
The CBC will provide over 200 specialized training courses to approximately 5,000 public mental and behavioral health providers. These professionals, affiliated with Community Mental Health Service Programs and Prepaid Inpatient Health Plans, will gain access to a wealth of resources designed to improve the quality of care for children facing behavioral health challenges. PCG’s partnership with MDHHS builds on the company’s 35-year legacy of delivering impactful health and human services solutions.
“PCG is proud to partner with MDHHS to improve the ability of the state’s behavioral health workforce to provide care to Michigan families,” said Jill Reynolds, Human Services Associate Practice Area Director at PCG. “We are committed to helping Michigan achieve better outcomes and fiscal performance through this critical training and workforce development program.”
Jen MacBlane, PCG Human Services Manager, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the value of collaboration: “Through our partnership, the CBC will provide valuable resources and build workforce capacity for behavioral health professionals to improve the quality of public behavioral health services for children and their families in Michigan.”
The Capacity Building Center is expected to launch its website in May 2025, marking a significant milestone in the effort to bolster Michigan’s behavioral health infrastructure. This initiative represents a shared commitment to improving access to high-quality care for children and families, equipping providers with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.
