Building Pathways for Transitioning Service Members
In July 2024, PCG welcomed its first-ever intern through the Department of Defense (DOD) SkillBridge Program, which partners service members during their final months of active duty with corporations who can help them leverage their skills and experience in a civilian workplace.
Natalie Crall joined the U.S. Navy at 19-years-old. She began her career as a Hospital Corpsman serving alongside the U.S. Marine Corps and worked her way through various ranks until becoming a Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9). While serving as a Master Chief Hospital Corpsman, Natalie earned the highest enlisted rank in the U.S. Navy, a position that carries immense responsibility and authority. In this role, she served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor, the “right-hand” service member, to the Commander, providing critical mentorship to junior sailors, overseeing the effective operation of her unit, and demonstrating expertise and leadership that is highly respected across the U.S. Navy.
When it came time to think about transitioning into civilian life for herself and her family, she immediately thought of PCG, which she had first heard about through someone she knew at the firm. Recognizing the alignment between her values and those of PCG, Natalie began looking into job opportunities within the company.
Natalie started her PCG career as an intern on the Human Services Enterprise Solutions team, contributing to several key projects with her diverse skill set, proactive engagement, and leadership. Through this experience, she was able to learn about business development and other aspects of the corporate world she wasn’t exposed to in her military career.
Not only was Natalie able to develop business acumen through meaningful work, but she was also able to find a support system to guide her through this process. Natalie received mentorship from her manager, Leonard Tokar, who was instrumental in supporting her through her transition into a civilian career. She also actively participated in the firm’s Military Network Employee Resource Group (MilNet ERG), where she found a community of fellow veterans and allies.
After four months as an intern, Natalie was offered—and accepted—a full-time position as a Lead Project Manager in that same team. In this role, she continues to hone her professional expertise and deliver meaningful solutions that better our communities.
“The people at PCG have a purpose and passion, and I’ve found what I was looking for here. PCG invests in people, and you don’t see that everywhere,” Natalie said.
“The military is service to country, service to others,
and that’s exactly what PCG is and what PCG does—service to others”
