Public Consulting Group (PCG) had an incredible time at the 52nd annual National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE) Conference in Atlanta, GA! NABSE is the nation’s premier nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering academic success for children, particularly those of African descent. From November 20-24, 2024, the NABSE Conference gathered some of the brightest minds in education—such as teachers and administrators, parents, and employers—to share innovative ideas that help advance education across the US.

This year, PCG presented the session “Literacy for All: Equitable Strategies to Support Dyslexia and Bridge the Literacy Gap.” Presented by Tamara Hall, Senior Learning and Professional Development Specialist, and Robert Frantum-Allen, Managing Education Advisor, the session provided participants with strategies and tools grounded in the Science of Reading and structured literacy, helping them recognize early signs of dyslexia, implement effective interventions, and create inclusive, equitable learning environments. It included a hands-on dyslexia simulation activity, which helped the audience understand the experience of students facing literacy challenges, and showcased PCG’s Dyslexia Playbook, a personalized professional learning and coaching platform designed for educators.

In addition to gaining great insights from other industry leaders, we wanted to make sure our impact extended beyond the conference. PCG awarded $10,000 in scholarships to 10 high school students in the Atlanta area to empower the next generation of talent. This year’s NABSE Conference was memorable and inspirational, affirming our commitment to driving change in education and fostering opportunities for all students to succeed.
