The New Jersey Community Contact Tracing Corps was established to assist local health departments track and control the spread of the coronavirus pandemic across New Jersey. To reduce transmission, the Community Contact Tracing Corps will ensure affected individuals are notified of their status and follow public health recommendations appropriately.
The Community Contact Tracing Corps is meant to reflect the diversity of the communities in which contact tracers serve. This includes effectively communicating and engaging with individuals who speak languages other than English and have diverse cultures. Contact tracers will be provided training through the Rutgers School of Public Health.
This initiative is operating in tandem with statewide local health department efforts. Public Consulting Group (PCG) is serving as a partner to New Jersey by recruiting, employing and managing contact tracers who can be deployed to carry out this work in areas with increasing COVID-19 cases.
