Kidonomics: 2 + 2 = 6 (#SXSWKidonomics)

Tuesday, March 7th 4:00 – 6:00pm (Hilton Austin Downtown, Room 408)

When exactly should we begin preparing our kids so as to build a competitive workforce pipeline? When is too early, or too late? Preparing our youth with the skills they need to secure jobs and live the life they desire is crucial. Significant evidence indicates that birth to 3rd grade is the most critical period to create a foundation for good health, well-being, and for achieving greater success socially, academically, and in the workforce. Those who fall behind early, even prior to their first birthday, stay behind. Building cross-sectoral collaboration between Health, Human Services, and Education will allow us to address the issues of early childhood development and exponential increase our results, thus achieving 2 + 2 = 6.
